Katie Tomarelli earned her doctoral degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from Rush University in Chicago, IL and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

While completing a service year with AmeriCorps NCCC in 2005, Katie realized her calling to be nurse. As a nurse, she became a witness to the human experience of birth, death, loss, transitions, stress, disappointment, forgiveness, abuse, substance use, betrayal, pain and joy. She appreciates the variety of opportunities including teaching in China's Inner Mongolia, hospice visits for Native Pueblos Tribes in northern New Mexico, and a Schweitzer Fellowship nurses station for the homeless in downtown Chicago. Experience in medical, hospice, psychiatry (inpatient and outpatient) nursing validated to her the importance of authentic compassionate care, and propelled her to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Along with providing mental health services, Katie has been practicing yoga and meditation since 2004. In 2016 she completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training from Yoga Source in Santa Fe, NM. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking, swimming, learning about different cultures and the ukulele.
Katie uses compassion, balance, and a holistic approach as a framework of treatment for healing. Jasmine Mental Health was purposefully created by Katie to support clients as they build inner strength and increase perception. She strives to create an atmosphere of safety, acceptance and calm to aid in the process of transformation.

"I believe mental health is the foundation for building healthy lives, individually and collectively for society. "
